The Compliance Department’s primary responsibility is to ensure that projects performed by our entities conform to the statutes and regulations governing diversity participation. We assist in formulating a Minority Utilization plan, including vetting the proposed companies to ascertain the viability of the entity and whether their participation meets the “commercially useful function” test of the regulations. In addition, the department prepares and files the monthly reports with the owners and analyzes the level of participation to catch any possible shortfall in payments, thereby reducing the potential for penalties to the project or company.

The legal department serves as a gateway for all legal action for our companies. Legal reviews all contracts, claims and controversies, providing legal counsel as needed, as well as authorization and support for litigation or arbitration.

The Insurance department is responsible for ensuring appropriate corporate and project insurance coverage is in place, including securing and providing owners with any required Accord certificates. We also review, process and monitor claims with the various carriers, filing necessary documentation with the carriers or counsel as cases progress, establishing reserves and approving settlements.
